Hello weekend, am I right?! I don't know about you but my week was forever long, BUSY, stressful and tiresome! Not to mention this rainy gloomy weather doesn't help!
I had signed up for Hip-Hop Club Cycle [my FAV class] earlier this week but Saturday morning came and I am not going to lie... it was so hard for me to get out of bed! Long weeks, just make make me blah!
Well, am I ever glad I showed up! 5 minutes (maybe) in the class the song THIS IS WHAT YOU CAME FOR played, and that is all it took!
Those words got to me...
...Baby, this is what you came for
Lightning strikes every time she moves
And everybody's watching her... - Calvin Harris - This Is What You Came For (Official Video) ft. Rihanna
ME! That is what I came for! Let's face it, everyone is busy! But HELLO! DO NOT forget to make time for YOU! Whether it's working out, reading, spa day, shopping, etc. put YOU time in the calendar! YES I CAN, and I will make time for ME, take care of ME because I am on a chase for those limitless dreams!
Let's talk about Surge Cycling! I am OBSESSED!
1st ride 7.23.2016
Surge Cycling a pretty dope cycling studio, homegrown & grass-fed in Minneapolis. Ride to the beat and get lost in the music to find a stronger version of you.
I had seen a few ads on Facebook about Surge Cycling and saw a girlfriend of mine check-in to it that same week (I swear my phone hears everything I say and knows everything I am thinking)! Well, I messaged her and asked if she wanted to go with me one day and what she thought (she loves it), that's all it took! OK, let's talk about the NEW RIDER SPECIAL, 2 class for $15, yup! Sign me up! I took my first class [Surge Circuit] at the Maple Grove location, right next to Erik's Bike Shop off of Hemlock Lane and my second class in St. Louis Park (right in West End across the street from Costco and for my foodies, in the same strip if Yangtze) for Hip-Hop Club Cycle. 2 classes is all it took! I was HOOKED!
After my first time and Instagram post [@thechi_list / @surgecycling], I just couldn't keep this amazing place to myself! Hey I get it! We all get that feeling when people ask or when you kind of want to try a new place out but you are not so sure. Well, most of the time we aren't so sure because we're afraid it is something new! AND we ask ourselves these crazy questions and come up with these crazy thoughts like, I don't look like that. What if I can't do this? What if I can't do that? Will I fit in? Am I going to be the most out of shape person there? I GET IT! We all get it and have been there! Whether it is trying a new gym or just trying something new in general. It's OK! Remember, everyone has been there! With that being said, THAT is why I LOVE SURGE! Surge Cycling is a judge free zone! You came for you! Surge is for anyone and everyone! Don't take my word for it, I promise you everyone who has been there would say the same thing! The staff/instructors are so friendly, they are encouraging and know you by name! Not only are the staff/instructors great, the riders all of the riders are SO AWESOME! Come on, I know you have been to places where if you aren't a regular, they don't even smile at you. You won't have to worry about that at Surge! You walk in with a smile and walk out with a smile!
Basically, what I am saying is come join me at least for 1 ride at Surge Cycling! I promise, you won't regret it! Let me know if you want to meet me during the week in Maple Grove or weekend in St. Louis Park! You can catch me this coming Saturday [9/3] in St. Louis Park for 9AM Hip-Hop Club Cycle with MAI, Spoonful of Faith, and Meghan Joy Today!
